7-Spot ladybirds

Although the majority of the ladybirds in the picture are Harlequin Ladybirds, probably gathering together pre-hibernation, there appear to be at least two 7-Spot Ladybirds in the photo as well, one just under the wire in the centre of the phot and another as the right most ladybird.

Yes, 13 Harlequins, form

Yes, 13 Harlequins, form succinea (red/orange with 0-21 black spots), and a pair of 7-spots. During the early autumn you often find groups like this, particularly of Harlequins, as they begin to group together to form overwintering aggregations
