Description:

A tall (50cm) plant standing erect topped by numerous small yellow flowers. The upper and lower leaves are very different shapes but both seem to clasp the stalk and host smaller offshoots.

Might be B. rapa which I have

Might be B. rapa which I have seen in flower already this year. Can you tell me how long the petals are? If over 10 mm then most likely to be napus

Petal Length

The petals are almost exactly 10mm long from tip to tip. I have attached another photo showing this in the hope that it will help.

That solves it, must be rapa

That solves it, must be rapa not napus. rapa has petals 6-13 mm, napus 13+. Not sure where I got the 10 mm from, must be old age - should read my own books!!!
