Looks like an orangey colured alder fly but not at all sure of ID. Just guessing really.

Caperer

The common name "Caperer" although correct has unfortunately limited the options on the carousel, a search on "Halesus" only gives many more similar looking options.

Stenophylax permistus is also an Autumnal species, occuring before the summer and after the summer. From Naturespot.org.uk on the species page.

I have only removed my

I have only removed my agreement here because I need to personally familiarise myself with permistus and vibex, and indeed see if I can reliably separate them. To be honest, so far when I see a Stenophylax in the field, I look for the 'lack of speckling anterior to the radial vein' but I am never certain about the ID.

Its just a personal thing, I want to be sure.
