White bluebell growing in the sea of blue. I've included some pics of a blue one as I only got the two shots of the white one.

White bluebells

I remember reading in an Alison Uttley book (The Country Child) that white bluebells were thought of as especially lucky in the mid 1800s - they had the power to grant wishes (along with things like falling stars, the new moon, the first cuckoo and four-leaved clovers)!

Interesting, I didn't know that. I don't think that white ones are uncommon - we certainly have quite a few around here, but they're always nice to spot.
