This is a very well worn track, only badgers (or humans) would use the same route often enough to form such a well worn track. If the second photo has been worn by badgers they must have been using it for many, many years.
I know of one route which looks a little like this and there is anacdotal evidence they have been using it for at least 200 years, they have even worn a groove a couple of cm deep in the top of a stone wall where they cross!
