Description:

Clearly this is a Small Copper (Lycaena phlaeas) and it is on Madeira so it MAY be a Madeira Small Copper (L. p. phlaeoides).
What I'm not clear about is whether ALL the Small Coppers on Madeira are Madeira Small Coppers. I have a suspicion they are but, since I haven't seen any particular distinguishing feature or explicit statement, ... just wondering.

No problem and thanks ...

... it's an interesting question, the island issue. At least, it proved very useful to one C. Darwin. :D
