Description:

Brett Westwood, presenter of BBC Radio 4's "Saving Species", joined the bug-hunts at the OU Science Day, and among other things found this small ground beetle. Notiophilus have amazingly large eyes for such a tiny beetle, and use them to hunt down even smaller prey such as springtails.
