Pot Marigold

This daisy like plant found on chalk cliff top between Epple Bay and West Bay, Kent. Leaves to this plant are bottom right of picture. Looks more like a garden plant that has become wild?

I think you may be right

I think you may be right David but I am not quite a 100% - I can't unjumble the leaves will ponder this.

Must confess I'm not certain, the flowers look like Calendula but not sure about the foliage.

will go back

thanks for your thoughts - I can see marigold now (apart from middle whorl). I will go back to get pic of foliage (i.e. unravel from other foliage).

Marigold and Alexanders

I think the majority of the foliage is that of Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum) - and the flowers (and the leaves in the bottom right) are C.officinalis!

new photo of foliage now added

sorry it's taken so long - but here's an update of foliage for ID clarity.
