This delightful little bird was on a bird table in scrubland next to hide, on the shore of a flooded gravel pit.

This has a remarkably grey back for a Reed Bunting...
The face has the look of some old females, which develop very male-like dark heads. I wonder whether it is an old female which has also developed that pale back as well? It certainly is very boldly marked compared to most.
