Almost caught in the act of eating broad bean seedlings in the shed - captured very briefly before being relocated nearby. Small (8-9cmms approx)orangey-brown mouse, white underneath, with a long tail and large round ears

They love beans,peas so I had to grow mine in the glasshouse first(mouse proof) until the were about 6ins before planting them out.I had been planting direct in the ground only to find them all missing as they were waiting till dark then scoffing them.

Chest markings (or not)

Did you have a look at the chest to see if there were any markings e.g. a continuation of the golden-brown colour from shoulder to shoulder or a large chest patch? Could also be yellow-necked mouse in your area.
