Large spider

Observed: 20th August 2009 By: Elehay
Description:

I saw this large spider in our house at the end of last summer. It is the largest one I've ever seen, so I'm wondering exactly what species / type of spider it is.

It is indeed a Tegenaria spider, but not possible to confirm the species without microscopic examination, there are several possibilities.
