Description:

Photographed this bird through the the glass in my kitchen window this morning, hence poor quality.The rain seemed to bring many birds out, we counted up to seven chaffinches at one time around our feeders.
Would this be a female, the colours seem a bit dull?

It's definitely a female Chaffinch, but I cannot be sure it is your garden... ;)

It looks like a bird born last year, as I think that I can see a moult contrast in the greater coverts. That might explain why the colours are not very bright on the rump, for example.
