I havn't seen so many Dunnocks around for years.

Yes they are very apparent at the moment as are green finches

Movement

Some bird ringers noticed a movement of Dunnocks in association with the snow of February. They are not as sedentary as sometimes believed, but some populations do move around. That might account for more being noticed, in winter, on occasion.
