Description:

I saw this tree on the edge of parkland and initially just thought it was a fine specimen of Holm Oak (Quercus ilex). However, the leaves in the crown appear to be too large - I think it is the pale undersides showing. The lower leaves above the trunk fork look more typical of Holm Oak. Any other suggestions? The parkland contains many fine old trees but is private so I was not able to get a close-up picture.
