Egg cases - shoreline Conwy (1 of 1)

I don't know what this is other than egg cases of a marine animal. The longest part of this group of cases measures about 3 inches. Anyone any idea?

Yes this is definitely a 'sea wash ball' which is the eggs of the common whelk Buccinum undatum. The story of the name is that they wash along the shore in the wind or waves or some say sailor's used to use them fofr washing with!
