Larva found in moss on area of open sandy heath/grass. About 35mmm long.

Not sure what this is, but if I had to guess I'd agree that it looks like a beetle. It's not one I'm familiar with and I can't see enough detail (e.g. of the legs) to go further.

Thanks to you both for your comments. That is good enough for me. I did not look at it for long as I was photographing Snow fleas at the time. I just snapped a couple of shots as it moved through my viewpoint and was curious what it was.
