Any help with ID would be appreciated. Bracket was about 10-15cm across and was attached to the bark of a small multi-stemmed deciduous tree.

Its curiously blackened almost as if its been burnt.
It did look like that Mike, but there was no sign of fire nearby. I suppose this could be a reaction to frost, or just senescence. In the reverse shot of the bracket, their is a interesting reddish tint to the upper surface. I wonder if this is diagnostic?
