A pile of blackbird feathers in the garden with a signal to what had taken it. I am guessing it is a sparrowhawk?

Definitely not a Sparrowhawk feather. As Nightfly said on your last posting of the same, it may well be a Pheasant primary, which are quite variable.
My Flickr photos...
This is not a Sparrowhawk feather. The pile of Blackbird feathers may indicate and 'altercation' with a pheasant; which this feather appears to be from.
Thank you - yes I now recognise the feather is from a cock pheasant who regularly visits my garden.
