Carex nigra is uncommon in Cambridgeshire; only an old record at the locality
C. vulgaris, Shepreth moor, 28.6.1913, Gregor,ann.
When I visited on 24/04/2012 the area was dry and the tussocks of Carex showed no signs of growth. Groundwater levels are being monitored.
