Signs of animal eating base of rush; quite a lot of occurrences over past few weeks
No interactions present.
I've been in touch with the local wildlife group and they said they'd like to visit to check - apparently not many records in this area
The neat, slightly diagonal cut is a clear give away that you have water vole.

The person from the local Wildlife Trust visited a couple of weeks ago. He noted that the latrines had the wrong sort of faeces - it was bank voles (Myodes glareolus). There are no reports of water voles in the immediate area (so he would have been pleased and surprised) although there are some 20 kms away (so it was possible)
