Multi coloured bracket fungus seen on tree stump

Did you look underneath?

This looks more like Smoky Bracket Bjerkandera adusta to me but you need to see if the underside has a dark grey pore surface.

I went back to the site and I think you are right - the underside is dark. Thank you for your help with this.

Probably Smoky Bracket then.

The ID of these small brackets can be quite difficult to pin down as they are rather variable - particularly Turkeytail - so the underside is often the deciding factor. Lovely to see when they cascade in tiers like yours. You could put up a revision.
