Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
No interactions present.
Presumably the cherry tree is dead as these are normally found when the tree is dead or very much on way out.
The tree looked fine last year in full leaf, however a few years ago the trees around it were cleared so the fungus may relate to that?
Next time I shall upload a fuller picture too.
