A pair of birds heading to the water. They were moving away from me and these were the best photos I could get.

Pochard

As a general rule, Pochard are freshwater diving ducks and so would not be found walking over mud at the coast. Wigeon, in contrast, are a very common dabbling duck found in both inland and coastal waters.
