Yellow, possibly with a formerly brown cap, about 9cm across, no discernable smell in very cold weather; otherwise beyond my descriptive powers!


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Hygrophorus hypothejus looks

Hygrophorus hypothejus looks a good guess to me too but not sure you can tell for sure from the photo.

I agree miked it was basically guess and deduction of what is about at that time of year and also I get a lot of these were I live and see them in various stages of there life cycle.I put might as it is hard to say from the photo but I do think it is good to try and get an id as it test's your fungi identification skill's and I need all the practice I can get.
