Do you know if we have any other chafers here in the north? The cockchafer is the only one I have encountered.
The smaller Northern Cockchafer (Melolontha hippocastani) has apparently been recorded in Ireland but not in the North.
The NBN Gateway map seems to show a single record of Melolontha hippocastani on the North Coast but does not allow me access to the actual record. (Mind you, the NBN map for M. melolontha shows no records for NI but it is quite common!)
It certainly is, quite strange it isnt recorded on that map as yet?
