Portevinia

Always worth a stop near a patch of Ramsons, in May and June, to look for the hoverfly Portevinia maculata. Roll on the spring!

Hover Hunt

Yes - Funny you should mention that :-) but a good point for those on a Hover Hunt They are a dull Hover often overlooked but easy to ID and as you quite rightly say Ian have a taste for the early Ramson Flower or Helliborines out at this time
