Small fly (I think), c.2-3mm, seen on Birch trunk in suburban garden. Seemed quite at home on the bark and reluctant to fly.
No interactions present.
Could this be a Bark Fly ? Some images I have look quite close but are not this particular one, there seems to be very many species.

Thanks for the suggestion, it would certainly fit better with the habitat. However this insect's wings were held flat over the abdomen (you need to view large to see it clearly) and I'm pretty sure that all barkflies hold their wings 'tentwise'.
