Check the relevant page on UKmoths and the issue of the very similar Parornix finitimella is made clear. I don't think I would go near any of the Parornix species without a microscope!
Find the leaf mines - these are exceptionally difficult to determine as adult moths. From a set specimen you have a better chance as one key character is on the underside of the forewing. The larvae of the two prunus spinosa species are much easier to separate!
Both species are pretty common, just under-recorded.
