Waring, Townsend and Lewington: "Pale examples of the Square-spot Rustic are similar to f. Neglecta [the form of Neglected Rustic with light fringes], but have kidney-mark paler than ground colour, or at least pale-outlined and usually squarer." Which makes me think this is the Square-spot.
I found it hard to accept this was genuinely a neglected rustic, despite a few seemingly confident IDs of Neglected on BGM back in the late summer.
I did want it to be neglected owing to the rarity of records here but I leant towards the IDs of SSR that were also given at the time.
