I've always found the common seals are more inquisitive than grey seals, not to say grey seals won't come to see what you are if you go swimming with them.

My daughter loves this,we have to camp in Norfolk every year for this.Unfortunately people let their over indulged kids harass these Seals endlessly, not letting themm 'haul out to rest and bask'.If you want to try this , go to Brancaster beach , Norfolk.at car park/golf course head left along sand dunes, follow till inlet-Seals cut off at high tide !.They join you in the water especially if youy splash loads etc !
