From the date of this observation and the size and colouration of the lizard, this looks like a juvenile which would have been born in June/July that year. Common lizards this young have not yet developed the characteristics that allow them to be accurately sexed.
When they have developed them females tend to be more striped and males more spotted, males also have a yellow-orange belly which black spots.
