A brown mouse with large eyes and wide cheeks. Body length approx 9cm.

Gill is right, this is most probably a wood mouse but you are on the edge of the known distribution of yellow-necked mouse so this species can not be ruled out with 100%. Therefore, this mouse has to go down as Apodemus Sp. I'm afraid.
