Description:

I'm reasonably sure that the stump this bracket was found on is an oak, though I could be wrong as it has been dead a long time.
The bracket has concentric, different coloured patterning on top, is quite thin and neither hard nor soft to touch.
The brackets were around 8 inches across.
In the second picture, showing the underside, you can see that the pores are elongated, rather than maze-like, so I thought might rule out oak mazegill??
