Thanks allrounder, i should have looked for examples of Black heads in their winter plumage! ie. without their black heads!

It would be very unusual to have Kittiwake inland, and they have black legs and a yellow bill. Young birds with black on the head and neck also have a very striking black-and-white pattern on the wings that BHG lacks.
