Description:

Red/Orange thorax and abdomen, vivid wing joints and one shaded area of the forepart of each wing. These are two different dragon flies in the same vicinity, probably male.

They are male and I like your description of the "vivid wing joints" - well put.

By the way, the "shaded area of the forepart of each wing" rejoices in the technical name of pterostigma. I've read something that suggests it is to stabilize the wing in a glide. Interesting. ;-)
