Great-crested newt tadpole

Note the golden-yellow iris ring of the eye making it appear to be staring wide-eyed. Also the black spots on the crest of the tail.

I've got another photo of it

I've got another photo of it next to either a smooth or palmate - massive size difference! Found during a pond survey last year in which we found several ponds in the area to be home to some GCN's :)
