Yes it is wonderful although thanks to the Chinese road builders the edge of the wild is creeping back. The first time I went going through the Isolo Gate was like going from one world to another now its black top all the way to the park, corregated iron shacks have replaced the traditional huts and crops have replaced the camels and thorn scrub in many places. The reserve it self is still splendid and of course there are species like gerenuk and orynx you wouldn't see in the Mara.

One of my favourite species of northern Kenya is the Grevy’s Zebra, hope they are still holding on.
