I said I struggled with this one as it was out of it's range. I don't think with my moth knowledge that I would have have made a correct identification of it.
The Shaded Broad-bar in my guide is much more colourful, I'm therefore assuming this specimen is somewhat faded? I would appreciate your help.

Not faded, just a very variable moth in terms of colour. Some specimens are quite dark, especially the central cross bar, but others are like this one. If you skip across the carousel you will see the variety. The light is also very strong in your picture, which is perhaps making it appear paler than it was?
It is a very common moth, in July, in grassland. Once you've seen it, you will keep seeing it!
