I'm just looking over old stuff- arriving at this my first thought is this is much more like a Grey Pine. Ive got a lot more familiar with britannica and obeliscata this year and to me this is a dark obeliscata.
Having looked again I think you're probably correct, do you want to add that as a further ID? I think I've probably been a bit quick to jump to conclusions over some of these in the past.

Will do Martin, I suppose with species as similar as these, sometimes it just takes some familiarisation with them only really possible by seeing multiple examples of each. Ive trapped both species multiple times this year and consequently referred to sites like UKmoths repeatedly in the process of trying to get the accurate ID.
I dont think Spruce Carpet comes in this dark form but the other one certainly does.
