Did you photo the underside at all? I am sure the last photo is a second species.

Flaxton, Yes I think you are right there - I was not sure myself. It was a whopper and very wooden in texture, and a lot more blue that the photo suggests. I was not even sure at the time if it was fungus. I could not get as close to it as I wanted and did not have a very good camera at that time (got a better one for me birthday - yeh). what I will do is create a separate observation with what I have and maybe I can finally get more of a description than 'Bracket' fungus. I might try and get back to this site for another photo-shoot.
