Pine log?

The lobes were a couple of cm across, growing on a fallen branch, yellow presumably when fresh then darker brown with some blobs that had apparently dripped onto the ground.

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

not sure

I have never seen this one apart from postings on iSpot so don't know if it goes like this. The only other one I thought it may be was Tremella foliacea. I know it say's rare in the books but they are probably out of date with current data of finds, may be worth looking on the red data site.

Thanks for this comment. I've

Thanks for this comment. I've looked at photos of T foliacea and some of them do look very much like this... I think I'll add a revised ID for the genus Tremella to cover both these and their Jelly Fungus relations.

My other idea was Dacrymyces chrysospermus, but I'm not sure if they are found in this part of the world..

Not like Yellow Brain I've seen.

I've watched Yellow Brain from it's 1st appearance throughout it's long season and it has never lost the yellow colouration. That's not to say its always the case of course!
I agree with Sheila and think it is Leafy Brain T. foliacea.

I've added a photo showing the log... and I think it could well be pine.

Think so

It does look like pine to me,and martin who had just agreed on my post has put a bit in comment's .I am now more convinced that your's is Leafy Brain like mine.
