Shrub I spotted in amenity planting. Curious as to what it is.

I think the images are a bit overexposed, the spiny stems are normally quite green!

Hardy to about -5,unlikely to thrive this far north.Also flower buds seem to be showing on one of the pictures,much too early for Colletia
Cricketmoth, I think your right having looked a bit closer,I think I was floored by the description of 'amenity planting', Colletia is fairly common in amenity planting down here,and also the rather strange exposure.
