Description:

Knobbly black fungi found on fallen branch...possibly oak.
Matt surface and hard to the touch...about the size of golf-balls.

Identifications

Daldinia concentrica

Also known as 'Cramp Balls'. If cut in half it should reveal concentric dark & silver/grey rings.
