Not a 'wild' goose! My bird book doesn't seem to show one like it! What is it?

I believe that the domestic goose derives from the Greylag Goose. As for the scientific name it could be either Anser anser or Anser anser domesticus but it's all rather confusing.

I agree with everything you say Chris. I would think Anser anser domesticus would be the most appropriate term.
