Oyster Mushrooms
Oyster mushrooms on tree
Caps, about a week after picking
Gills, about a week after picking
Cross section, about a week after picking
Spores in Melzer's, about 6-8 x 3-4 microns
Description:

Growing a tree in the park. I thought it was an oak at the time as there were some oak leaves on the ground nearby, but seeing that distinctive bark I'm not at all sure... There weren't many spores but enough to get several photos. I measured a dozen spores to get the size as 6-8 x 3-4 microns (average 6.8 x 3.3) which seems a bit shorter than the 7.5–11 x 3–4 microns suggested by Roger Phillips and Michael Jordan.
