Vole species

How big was the animal and did you see the length of the tail in relation to the body? Less than a third of the length?

Vole

The head+body was about 10cm and the tail ,from the brief glimpse that I got about a third of the body length.

Field vole

Thanks for that Paul. I agree with field vole on basis of size, tail length and colour (no reddish tinge often seen in bank vole).
