Description:

Small group of white mushrooms growing in mossy leaf litter in mixed wooded area of thepark. Caps conical, up to 1.5 cm across, white with hint of grey/cream at centre, radial fibres. White/buff stems, no ring, about 5 cm long, 1 mm diameter. No obvious juice or smell. White emarginate/free gills, about 20 of which reach the stipe. Faint white spore print but I couldn't find enough spores to photograph or measure.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

It does not look white enough

It does not look white enough to be M galopus var alba. With no smell it might be M flavo-alba but it would need a microscope to be sure.

Thanks Mal. When I went through the Norwegian key I also ended up with M flavoalba but I've missed my chance with this specimen to have a (yet another) go at looking for/at microscopic features.
