Red Deer grazing on the slopes of Loch Muich

Can we just check the location - is it in Ontario, Canada as the map shows? If so, 'Red Deer' is not really an appropriate name. They call them Wapiti or Elk over there (confusing, because what we call 'Elk' in Europe, they call Moose!). I ask also because they look a bit too weedy to be Wapiti - more like Scottish stags.

What an interesting observation Murdo! However, given that darrengreen lives in Aberdeenshire which is in the vicinity of Loch Muich (or Muick!) on the Ballater estate, I think we can assume it is in Scotland - not Canada! I suspect the author, who is new to iSpot, has simply got confused about locating the thing on the map. Besides, have you ever seen terrain in Canada that looked liked that in the pics.? It is just so typically highland Scotland!
My thoughts exactly - but it would be good to have this confirmed and the details changed on the observation.
