Any ideas on a possible species for this? It was found in the soil under a bit of roofing felt being used as a reptile mat.

That's interesting, I wouldn't have suspected it to be a cranefly. If I find one again I'll have to have a go at rearing it. I'm now wondering about the possible parasites; are they hymenoptera of some description or something else?

Thank you, that's an interesting paper. The diversity of parasites is quite incredible, it just makes you think how many species there are still waiting to be discovered - parasites on parasites...
