Found at the base of a Eucalyptus, also growing on lawn. The site has dead roots of a poplar tree which was removed 3 years ago. Caps are about 15 cms across with a 'rubbery' feel & slightly slimy, though it was wet at the time. No visible ring. Never seen this fungi growing on stem base before.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Might be Gymnopilus

Might be Gymnopilus spectabilis but not sure we can be sure of that from the photo.
